Building a Mobile Responsive Web App for Otaxi’s Taxi Booking System
Introduction
Metric Tree Labs partnered with Otaxi, a leading taxi aggregator company in Oman, to develop a comprehensive mobile responsive web application for their users and a web app for the super admin. The goal was to create a seamless and user-friendly platform that allowed users to book long-term recurring taxi contracts while providing the super admin with the necessary tools to manage the entire taxi booking system efficiently. The project was delivered on time, meeting all the requirements specified by Otaxi.

Project Scope and Features
The completed application consisted of two components: a mobile responsive web app for users and a web app for the super admin. The user web app offered the following features:
- Login and registration functionality for users to access their accounts securely.
- A user-friendly home page that provided options to book both day trips and long-term recurring contracts.
- The booking process involved selecting the date, time, driver, pickup location, waiting time, drop-off location, and contract details.
- After filling in the necessary information, users could click on the “Calculate the Price” button, which would update the screen to display the calculated price and a “Book” button.
- Clicking the “Book” button would send a request to the super admin, with users receiving a confirmation screen.
- The super admin would search for an available driver and send a contract proposition (in PDF format) to the customer.
- The contract status would be marked as pending approval from the customer.
- Customers could accept or reject the contract proposal from their end.
- If the customer accepted the contract, they would receive a payment link to make online payments.
- Once the payment was completed, the contract would be approved, and its status would change. It would then appear in the list of contracts in the customer’s profile summary.
